Keep your little ones happy this monsoon

We are halfway into the monsoon season, and it's the perfect time to get out those paper boats and play in muddy puddles.

While the occasional cool showers might be a welcome relief after a hot spell of summer, the dampness that often accompanies this climate isn't.

Damp clothes in particular are a usual nuisance -- not just for you, but for your tiny tots too, who may be unable to communicate their discomfort.

Newborn and infant care during the rainy season is easy. On the clothes front, we've got you covered.

Here are a few tips to keep your little ones happy during this rainy weather.

1. Opt for quick-drying fabrics
Perhaps one of the biggest problems about the rainy season is that clothes don't get enough time out in the sun to dry. So, one of the easiest ways to make the most out of precious sun time available is to choose fabrics that dry quickly. Those would include fabrics like polyester, nylon and cotton.

2. Keep it short
Steer clear of maxi dresses or full-length pants, and opt for clothes that are ankle length and above. This will allow children to move around freely as well as make laundry day easier for parents. Cleaning mud splatters can be a nightmare. Especially if they leave hard to remove stains. So, it's a win-win!

3. Hoodies are buddies
Hoodies are our favourite go-tos this season. Made of cotton, they are easy to maintain and cosy to wear. They will keep our tiny tots comfortable and safe from the wind and cold. Hoods are also a convenient solution for light drizzles.

4. Use a fabric softener
Oftentimes during this season, we have to dry out clothes indoors and this can leave a musty smell on them. Combat this by using a fabric softener. Fabric softeners slightly speed up the drying process and keep clothes freshly scented.

These few, but simple, tips are certain to keep our little ones content and comfortable as they explore their surroundings during this rainy season.

Now, time to get back to those paper boats!
